On 26th February, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Museveni, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President, Hon. Shillah Ainembabazi and the incoming National Executive Committee of the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA Uganda). The event, held in a spirit of celebration and national significance, was also attended by Col. Edith Nakalema, among other distinguished guests.

COL. NAKALEMA TIPS YOUTH ON INTENTIONAL FATHERHOOD

The head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has tipped the youth on intentional fatherhood.

 

Intentional fatherhood is the proactive, conscious practice of raising children based on deliberate values and long-term goals rather than reactive, impulse-driven habits. It focuses on building deep, secure connections and structured environments to nurture a child’s specific character and emotional needs.

“Many children complain that their parents have abandoned their responsibilities,” she said.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema and other heads of government agencies have assured the public that the institutions will continue running smoothly throughout the period of elections.

 

“It's time for all of us to protect our country and ensure a thriving investment climate. We are going to have business as usual during and after elections. We are not going to close, the offices will remain open,” she said. 

STUDENT LEADERS URGED TO SUSTAIN UGANDA’S SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Joint Staff Political Commissar, Maj. Gen. Henry Matsiko has revealed that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has been able to sustain its socio-economic transformation by embracing the right ideology. 

 

“When the NRM came to power, it started by addressing the strategic bottlenecks; by saying no to bad politics and reconstructing the state and making it viable,” he said. 

COL. NAKALEMA RALLIES KASESE YOUTH ON PEACE AND SECURITY

The head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema Asizua has implored the youth in Kasese District to preserve the peace and security in Uganda which the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has ensured for the last 40 years. 

 

“Christianity teaches us that true peace isn't merely the absence of trouble but wholeness and the right relationship with God. Keep peace and stability in your country starting with your homes,” she said. 

COL. NAKALEMA REASSURES INVESTORS OF UGANDA’S COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT AND PROTECT THEIR INVESTMENTS

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has reassured investors of Uganda’s commitment to supporting and protecting their investments in the East African country. 

 

“Collaborating with government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to maintain investor confidence levels in Uganda at an all-time high is the raison d'etre of SHIPU. This move was and still is the President’s reassurance to investors,” she said. 

DENMARK, UGANDA DEEPEN INVESTMENT CO-OPERATION THROUGH STATE HOUSE PARTNERSHIP

The Government of Uganda and the Kingdom of Denmark have renewed their commitment to deepening trade and investment relations, with a special focus on green growth, agribusiness and private sector development.

The pledge followed a high-level engagement between Danish Ambassador to Uganda Signe Winding-Albjerg and the head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema Asizua, held at the unit’s offices in Kampala on November 5, 2025.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has today hosted the Ambassador of Japan to Uganda, H.E Sasayama Takuya at the unit's offices in Kampala. 

During the courtesy call, the Ambassador was accompanied by his First Secretary, Mr. Hiroyuki Hayashi and a highly valued investor, Mr. Kan Yamamoto, the General Manager of Sumitomo Corporation.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has underscored the role of transparency and accountability in promoting investments in a country. 

According to Col. Nakalema, investor confidence hinges on predictable regulation, fair processes and robust oversight. 

“Transparent governance reduces risk perception, lowers borrowing costs and mobilizes capital whereas accountability mechanisms deter misuse, thus strengthening institutional trust,” she said.
